Accepting New Patients

Welcome to Signal Hill Dental Centre

We know you have a choice in your dental provider, and we are thrilled you have chosen our team for your dental needs. It is especially important to us that your visit feels comfortable and welcoming.

In order to ensure a smooth initial visit we would like to take this opportunity and guide you through what to expect.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your oral health goals. Please feel free to contact us prior to your appointment with any questions you may have.

As a new patient

What to Expect

Your first visit will consist of a comprehensive dental examination with your dentist. Typical exams may include diagnostic x-rays, screening for periodontal (gum) disease, TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation, examination of the tooth surfaces and any existing restorations, photographs, 3D scan, and an oral cancer screening.
Your dentist will explain treatment options to you so you can make a fully informed decision about your dental care.

Your visit may also include an appointment with one of our Registered Dental Hygienists. During your first dental hygiene appointment you can expect an assessment on your periodontal health with recommendations for frequency and timing of further visits.

Before Your Appointment

Provide Your Health History

Before we meet with you for your appointment date, there is information that we will need to gather from you. We ask that, if you have had any dental x-rays taken within the last 3 years, you contact your previous dentist so that they can facilitate transfer to us prior to your appointment date. These images are important for us to help diagnose your concerns, as well may reduce the need to take additional x-rays.

Before You Arrive

Day of Appointment

We ask that you come in about 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This way we can handle all of the necessary medical/dental history and forms in advance, enabling us to focus the entire appointment on your dental health needs.

If you would like to review our Personal Information Consent Form in advance, you can find it below:
