As more research and development show how airborne viruses are spread and the importance of clean air, we felt it undeniably important not only to enhance our air filtration systems in the clinic, but to also explain how they work to our patients.

This week, we are introducing and sharing the safety features of the Jade Purification Air System, by Surgically Clean Air.
Surgically Clean Air specializes in the manufacturing of air filtration systems that are medically graded and trusted in surgical environments. They produce air filters suitable for both residential and commercial use, and have been used in a range of industries from hospitals, to retail, to education, to pro-sports, and more.
Introducing Jade Purification Air System:
- Medical Grade Air System
- Engineered to maximize the air change rate
- 6-Stage filtration air purifying technologies that work together to clean, purify and re-energize the indoor air
- Captures dust particles, pollen, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), mold, allergens, viruses, odors (like formaldehyde and smoke), bio-aerosols, nitrous oxide, and many other pollutants that are found in the inside air in workplaces and residences
- Removes dust and pollen that affects allergies
- Kills germs and viruses that make people sick
- Eliminates odors and VOCs that irritate people
- Re-energizes stale indoor air to make breathing
How it Works: Filtration System
The air is purified in six stages:
- ULTRAFINE PARTICULATE FILTER: HEPA-Rx
The high efficiency HEPA-Rx filter removes microscopic particles in the air. - ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER: YES
The Activated Carbon Filter will absorb odors and gases. - GERMICIDAL UV-C+ CHAMBER: YES
- SUPER OXIDIZING PHOTOCATALYTIC NANO-TiO2: YES
- HYDROXYL RADICAL REACTIVITY CHAMBER: YES
Stages 3-5 – These chambers kill bacteria and viral microorganisms such as Influenza, TB and Legionnaire’s disease as well as other harmful contaminants. Additionally, when the Germicidal UV-C+ light hits the photocatalytic filter, it creates e- and h+, which are excellent in the decomposition of bacteria and odors. - REVITALIZING NEGATIVE ION CHAMBER: YES
The unit also has a chamber that generates revitalizing negative ions that freshens & energizes the air to combat fatigue.
Surgically Clean Air recommends one filter per 1000 sq ft. to provide 6 air changes per hour. When it comes to safety, Signal Hill Dental Centre proudly goes above and beyond so have installed 7 filters in our clinic. This provides us with 20-26 air changes per hour.
We have has designated one filtration system per patient room, and additional units in both the patient waiting area and the staff front desk area. Although our clinic is an indoor space, we wanted to ensure that not only are we able to maintain the air flow and circulation of the outdoors, but to have the air quality and cleanliness even better than the outdoors.
